Why do they call it a flist? I keep running across the term on DW and feel like I'm missing something obvious.

It's a shortening of "friends list", which was the term for the reading page back on Livejournal. DW obviously does the whole process a bit differently but the term stuck.

And for a while some were pushing to call our reading lists "dwircles" for DW-circles. Some people don't even like using circles. I just say my reading list.

I sometimes mistake myself as possessing a refined sense of humor, but I laughed way too much as the concept of "dwircles." I kind of love that. It sounds like a nursery rhyme creature.
