It was indeed remarkable, especially given how many shows have picked up and run with mindscrew concepts since then. I have been consistently impressed with how unpredictable it actually is. There's also something admirable in the purity of its themes, and how it refuses to stray into distracting subplots.
It's also extremely beautiful to look at, which I was not expecting going in.
I have heard such good things about Severance and it sounds satisfyingly strange. It even got a DVD release of season one, upping my chances of eventually seeing it.
