Fic in Progress
Mar. 21st, 2025 01:18 pmBecause I really need two multi-chapter stories being posted at once. It's another Jeremiah AU sprouting from the first season finale. It's also the tropiest thing I have yet attempted, and would not stop growing during the past couple years toying with it. So at least the first chapter is now done.

Date: 2025-03-23 02:10 am (UTC)Us being me and Killabeez. We are loyal to this show for a reason. :D
It's post-apocalyptic with an emphasis on hope and rebuilding. The core characters are incredibly loyal to each other even when they disagree. They discuss philosophy, quote poetry and question God. It's got drama, action, humor and intriguing lore. It's great for playing "spot the Canadian actor." It's frequently set in Cheyenne Mountain sans Stargate. And it's only 35 episodes.
Being an episodic show (with a myth arc) from 2002, not every episode is a winner, and it has some problems with its female characters, but I will always beat the drum for this fandom, and post works, and try to revive it by sheer force of will.

Date: 2025-03-23 02:28 am (UTC)Another Colorado show? I clearly need to watch it for that alone. I can giggle at how much it doesn't actually look like Cheyenne Mountain.
In all seriousness that does sound like something I'd enjoy, I'll definitely have to see if I can track it down and give it a watch, it sounds really interesting.
And then I'll be able to read all your fic and actually know what's what. :D

Date: 2025-03-23 04:04 am (UTC)Canadian shows are so pleasantly ridiculous, aren't they? Especially when they insist on claiming to be set in the United States. Or across multiple planets. :)

Date: 2025-03-23 04:39 am (UTC)It really is funny. So many of those planets just look like that one stretch of woods in Canada, don't they? Uncanny.
I'll still never forgive Stargate for that one line Sam had about there being no zoo in Colorado Springs, though. Colorado Springs has the best zoo.

Personally, I think the Ancients discovered copy-paste.
