Clearly I'm doing lost things this week...

The last two weren't that visually memorable, but this one was more like the pilot in being more beautiful than it had any right to be. That bus explosion, the way images throughout are framed, the warm lighting, it's all so good.

Evelyn is starting to gel, as the normal one of the trio who tries to reign in "raised by wolves" Alva's astounding lack of social grace and Paul's intense (health-damaging?) drive, and she's also got the most practical mind of the bunch, and got to contribute to the investigation this time, so I'm happy.

I can't tell if Alva actually gives a damn about either of his colleagues. If he does, he's very bad at showing it during hospital visits (ghost hunting is a dangerous line of work, clearly). He did take a great deal of interest in Paul actually finding out about his father, but refused to say why. His British wardrobe is great, as was Evvy's "amazing what a little accent can get out of a woman" and Alva's completely offhand "yes it is" before returning to the business at hand (I really doubt this man has any social life outside of work).

Paul remains a darling, nothing new to report there. Of course ghost children want his help. Of course he takes it more personally than his own personal life and refuses to quit the case until he's helped.

Paul's father is possibly a creep. Tommy's ghost is unhappy. And I expected the little girl to be just a figment but it was so much creepier when her body kept showing up at the scene of disasters. The bulk of the plot was a lot of fun and very well paced, with a slight increase in action - and although the resolution didn't quite land for me, the show has bounced back from the previous kinda-sorta dud.
